1920s Sola Pocket Watch from Gédéon Thommen

Description

A 1920s Sola pocket watch from Gédéon Thommen.

The watch has a signed stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover upon which is engraved various details of the movement.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The watch has a galonne case which is an 800 silver case with rose gold wash detail around the bezel and the edge of the back. Much of the rose gold wash has worn off with use.

The watch glass is in good condition with just one small chip to the bevelled edge.

The white enamel dial is in lovely condition. The ornate hands are a particularly handsome feature… these were very popular in the Scandinavian countries at the beginning of the 20th Century so this piece could well have been made for the Scandinavian market.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
