A Large Over Sized Omega Pocket Watch, Late 1910s

1900 - 1920
Description

A large over sized Omega pocket watch, late 1910s.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is signed with the Omega name and it has the serial number 5,166,418 which dates it back to the second half of the 1910s. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 58mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop so larger than a standard sized 50mm pocket watch. The nickel case has some light surface marks but overall is in good condition for such an early piece. The early Omega stamp is on the inside of the case back.

The watch glass is in lovely condition.

The dial is signed is in very nice condition and the ornate hands suggest that the watch was made for the Scandinavian market; the hands are different shades of gold so one is probably a later replacement.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
