An Antique Ornate Hampden Full Hunter Pocket Watch

An antique ornate Hampden full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, grade 206, which is working nicely. The movement is signed by the Ohio based company Hampden and it has the serial number 1,474,069 which dates it back to 1901. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch itself measures 46mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop so it is slightly smaller than the standard 50mm pocket watch. The gold filled case is beautifully decorated on both sides, and there are various cartouches, some have light scratches and one has the remains of a name.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. Inside there is a glass lens which is in good condition.

The white enamel dial is signed with the Hampden name. There is a short hairline crack below the subsidiary seconds dial but other than that, the condition is good. The hands are set by pulling out the small lever between 4 and 5, adjusting as necessary, and then the lever is pushed back in.
