Fine English Regency Bracket Clock of Small Size

19th century
Description

A charming and attractive Regency period ebonised BRACKET CLOCK of desirable small size.

By Turner of Fenchurch Street, LONDON, this good clock has an 8-day movement striking hours on a bell, repeating hours at will. There is "Strike/Silent" control (beside "III") and it is signed both on the well-painted convex dial and engraved on the backplate.

The case is delightful, with its brass-inlaid gabled top surmounted by a pineapple finial; further brass inlay to the front; gilt brass handles above the "fish-scale" side panels and it is raised on pretty gilt "melon" feet. Perfect working order. 15ins high (exc the finial); 9.5ins wide; 6.5ins deep. (38 x 24 x 16.5cms).
