A Vintage 1920s Elgin Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

A vintage 1920s Elgin full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a grade 290 stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The signed movement has the serial number 23740677 which dates it back to 1920. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The gold plated case was originally guaranteed to wear for 10 years. The case has engraved detail to the front and back. The case has mild denting to the front and some wear to the inner covers although very acceptable for a 1920s watch.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover. The plastic lens is in good condition.

The white enamel dial is signed Elgin and is in nice condition.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

Price includes worldwide postage.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
