18th Cent Oak Long Case Grandfather Clock 8 Day Movement and a “Penny Moon”

18th century
Description

A nice slim oak cased longcase clock fitted with an 8 day “penny moon” movement. The dial is signed for William Crawshaw, probably from Yorkshire (no place name on movement)

The case needs some light restoration, mainly to the mahogany cross banding plus some other small jobs.

The possibly associated 8 day movement has a very smart 11” brass dial with a penny moon. It runs and strikes with pressure on the wheels and the moon works but it needs a bit of restoration. One of the dial feet is detached and needs fixing and the date indicator does not operate (it is fixed in position). It is complete with weights and pendulum.

The maximum dimensions are:

207cm(81.5“) high

50cm(19.5“) wide

27cm(10.5“) deep

National and international delivery arranged at cost.
