Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The case is in nice unrestored original condition. It has a bit of history in that it has what looks like a bullet hole to the trunk door.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell. It has a very attractive brass dial with gilt spandrels and a silvered chapter ring. To the arch is a rocking old father time and the inscription Tempus Fugit

The movement is in good running order and keeping good time.
The maximum dimensions are:
214cm (84.25") high
