Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock (Scotland, C. 1830)

19th century
Description

A Regency period Scottish mahogany longcase clock. It has a typical West Coast of Scotland case, with a flat top, a 14 inch white enamel dial with reeded hood and trunk pillars and bracket feet. The dial has a subsidiary date and seconds dial and is signed by the maker William Walker of Barrhead. This clock has a very beautiful and unusual hand painted pendulum depicting a child playing with a toy. It has an 8 day bell striking movement that sounds the hours on a bell.

Current Condition

The case has been repolished, the dial professionally restored, the movement has been serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months. If you would like a video clip of this clock striking please email us.
