Antique 1919 silver half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The nicely jewelled movement is stamped Swiss made. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51 mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London (import mark) 1919 with an importer’s mark for George Stockwell - from 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

The front of the watch has black enamel Roman numerals although some of the infill has gone missing over the years. There are a couple of mild bruises to the back but otherwise it is in nice condition. The small plastic lens is in good order.

The front cover opens by pressing the winding crown. The inner plastic lens is in nice condition.

The white enamel dial is in very nice condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
