Antique J.w.benson Silver Pocket Watch and Stand

Antique silver J.W.Benson silver pocket watch and stand.

The watch has a good quality Swiss jewelled movement which is working well. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which is inscribed :- By warrant to H.M The late Queen Victoria. Examined by J.W.Benson 62 & 64 Ludgate Hill London. Swiss made. The watch would have been imported by J.W.Benson and then examined prior to being retailed by them.

The watch measures48.8 mm diameter excluding the stem and loop. The Swiss .935 silver case has Swiss .935 silver marks and the importers mark J.W.B (J.W.Benson). The case is in nice crisp condition with a vacant cartouche to the back

The glass watch lens is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark to the outer edge.

The white enamel dial has a couple of faint hairline cracks although hardly noticeable to the naked eye.

The watch has its original blued steel hands.

The watch comes on a 1901 silver and ebonised easel pocket watch stand.

The silver has London hallmarks for 1901 with the makers mark W & C (Wild & Carr).

The silver is in nice condition and has a vacant cartouche to the centre.

The ebonised frame is in nice condition with only light marks from use.
