Ornate Brass and Gilt Carriage Clock (France, 1897)

Description

A late 19th Century timeiece French carriage clock. It has a Louis Xv style Doucine case which has a shaped top handle, embossed gilt ormolu bands top and bottom and an embossed dial mask with an enamel chapter ring. The 8 day movement has a lever platform. The case has an engraved inscription on the top at the rear which is dated March 1897.

Current Condition

The case has been polished and lacquered so that it will not tarnish, the movement has been serviced and is guaranteed for 12 months.

8.00cm wide 16.00cm high 7.00cm deep (3.15 inches wide 6.30 inches high 2.76 inches deep)
