Cross Antiques has dated this piece to the 1750s.
The case is in beautifully figured mahogany and is in excellent condition. The hood columns have smart gilt cast brass Corinthian capitals.
The 3 train 8 day movement has a most attractive silvered dial. The movement chimes the quarters on a nest of 8 bells and the hours on a ninth bell.
The movement has been serviced and is in full working order and keeping good time. It originally had a centre date hand but this has been removed.
