The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1920s.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 25mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for Edinburgh 1927, together with the initials of probably the original owner. The case is nicely patterned along the sides. A little hole has appeared on the front of the case, just from repeatedly rubbing against a sleeve.

The slightly convex lens is in good condition.
The dial has darkened with age but still easy to read to the time. The watch has blued steel hands although they are slightly different which suggests one is a later replacement. There is also a small subsidiary seconds dial and a minute track.
A new black leather strap has been fitted.
