Antique 1909 Elgin Full Hunter Gold Filled Pocket

Description

Antique 1909 Elgin full hunter gold filled pocket watch.

The watch has a stem winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is within 2 – 3 minutes over a 24 hour period. The movement is signed Elgin Nat'l Watch Co. U.S.A. 15 jewels and the serial number 14493537 which dates the watch to 1909.

The watch measures 50.5 mm diameter excluding the stem. The 10ct gold filled case is the Moon model made by the Dennison Watch Case Company. The case has light surface marks from use and a small ding to the front cover but overall it is in nice condition for its age.

The watch lens is in nice condition.

The dial is signed Elgin and has faint hairline crack to the edge between 4 & 5 o'clock and a small mark between the centre and 2 o'clock although hardly noticeable. It has blued steel hands.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
