An Antique Waltham Giant Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique Waltham Giant full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed American Waltham, USA, Giant and it has the serial number 19398731 which dates it back to 1913. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is gold filled and was made the Illinois Watch Case Company … it was originally guaranteed to wear for 20 years which is a nice sign of quality. There are three little indentations to the front cover.

The winding crown pushes in to release the front cover which reveals a white enamel dial which is in very nice condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute ring.

The plastic lens is in good condition.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
