An Antique 9 Carat Gold Uno Trench Watch

An antique 9 carat gold Uno trench watch.

The watch has a 15 jewel hand-winding movement by Dimier Freres & Cie which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is also signed with the Uno name.

The watch measures 32mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the fixed wire lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1918 with a maker’s mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The front of the case is in good condition and the back has some unevenness but overall very acceptable for such an early piece. The winding crown is a later replacement.

The plastic lens is in good condition.

The enamel dial has a superb appearance with black outlined numbers with a red number 12, and then an inner 24 hour dial in red. There are some faint hairline cracks to the dial but not too obvious to the naked eye.

A later black leather strap has been fitted.
