Gents 1920s silver cushion cased wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 31mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the fixed wire lugs. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Glasgow (import mark), 1924, together with the importer’s or sponsor’s mark for James Weir of Glasgow. In 1911/12 James Weir was listed as a watch manufacturer, chronometer maker to the Admiralty, jeweller and silversmiths with premises in Argyle Street and Buchanan Street, Glasgow. The case has some light surface marks but overall is in very nice condition for such an early piece.

The lens is in good condition too.

The white enamel dial is in super condition and has handsome blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch has a vintage brown leather strap with a silver buckle, also hallmarked for 1924.
