Gents 9 Carat Gold Waltham Cushion Cased Watch

1920 - 1940
Description

Gents 9 carat gold Waltham cushion cased wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, grade 359, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed and it has the serial number 28814180 which dates it back to 1935.

The watch measures 30.5mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30.5mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for Birmingham 1935, with a maker’s mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case has some unevenness and marking commensurate with its age.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed enamel dial has a good look with the red number 12, blued steel hands and an outer minute track. There is a hairline crack between 11 and 12.

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.
