Gents 9 Carat Gold Longines Wrist Watch, 1958

1940 - 1960
Description

Gents 9 carat gold Longines wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre 19.4, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around one minute or so over 24 hours. The movement is signed with the Longines name and it also has the serial number 10,761,638 which dates it back to 1958.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for London 1958 together with the Baume name; Baume were the importers of Longines watch into the UK and the Commonwealth. The case has some minor marks and a couple of indentations. The winding crown is a later replacement.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial has the raised Longines logo. The dial is in lovely condition.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
