Ww1 Period Car or Lorry Dashboard Clock with 8 Day Lever Movement, Circa 1914

Description

For sale is this very fine WW1 period Car or Lorry dashboard clock with 8 day lever movement, circa 1914. This very heavy brass cased dashboard clock is signed on the dial Truscott Bideford N Devon and also marked 8 Day English Lever. It is in fine original and unrestored condition, fully working keep good time. The front of the clock including the bezel has a diameter of 85mm by 35mm deep and the back plate is 120mm in diameter. The front heavy bevelled glass is original and chip free with only a couple of scratches. Fully numbered gilt English 17 jewel Lever movement in fine original condition. The back plate has been scratch marked with what appears to be the military crows foot, so this clock may of had some military use. The dial is in original and unrestored condition showing only the odd slight hairline.This clock would make a very fine desk clock to someone who is interested in vintage or military transport history and they are seldom found on this quality.
