Truly Amazing Mahogany Exhibition Quality Long Case Clock

1900 - 1920
Description

This long case clock makes a real statement, it was commissioned for a mill owner in Lancashire. The clock stands impressively at just under 9ft tall. The mahogany case is in very good condition with a bevelled glass panel to the door so that the lovely brass weights and pendulum are visible. Very elegant and stylish with columns to hood carving to top of the hood. With carved and turned rosettes above, finished off with 3 brass fineals. The arch brass dial has spandrels to the corners with angels chased in the gilt metal with a silvered chaptering with Roman numerals and the minutes/seconds in Arabic numbers as well. With a subsidiary date dial and sweeping seconds finger, topped off with an arched rolling moon section and the name, William Haworth above. Circa 1900
