Antique silver half hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around three to four minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks for London (import mark) 1919 with an importer’s mark for George Stockwell - from 1 June 1907, Stockwells acted as assay agents, facilitating the import into Britain of foreign gold and silver items, which had to be assayed and hallmarked in a UK assay office before being released for retail.

Unusually for a half hunter case, it has engine turned detail to both the front and back. The front of the watch is in good condition and has black enamel Roman numerals. There are a couple of small indentations to the back. The small plastic lens is in good order.

The front cover opens by pressing the winding crown and encouraging it a little with your thumb nail. The inner plastic lens is in good condition.

The white enamel dial is in very nice condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
