The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The movement is signed American Waltham USA Traveler and it has the serial number 12,738,107 which dates it back to 1903. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.
The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Birmingham 1905, together with a case maker’s mark for the Birmingham silversmith William Sparrow. The case is in good condition and there is a small vacant cartouche to the back.
The watch has a glass lens with a bevelled edge … there are small knocks and marks across it.
The enamel dial is in good condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
