A Gents Cushion Cased Waltham Wrist Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

A gents cushion cased Waltham wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, with 13 jewels, which is ticking away and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed AWW Co, Waltham, Mass, and it also has the serial number 18,844,188 which dates it back to 1912.

The watch measures 31mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs. The case has some minor marks but overall is very acceptable for its age, and the patterning down the sides of the case is a handsome feature.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed white dial is enamel. There are a couple of hairline cracks. Nice chunky hands and bold numbers, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

A later dark brown leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
