The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
A winding key is included. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover which has a previous owner’s name engraved upon it.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1897, with a maker’s mark for the Birmingham and Hatton Garden based watch maker William Ehrhardt. The front of the case is in good condition. The case back has some unevenness and some rubbing to the engine turned detail, all commensurate with its age.

The watch lens is glass and has some nibbles to the bevelled edge and a handful of small light marks.
The watch has an enamel dial and there are some nibbles around the edge.
