Silver 'Climax Trip Action Patent' Pocket Watch

Antique silver ‘The Climax Trip Action Patent’ pocket watch from H Samuel.

The watch has a key-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped H Samuel, Market St, Manchester and it is protected by an inner fitted cover. A winding key is included (different to the one shown in the photos but still an advertising key).

The watch measures 52mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Chester 1906 with a maker’s mark for H Samuel. The case is in good condition with just a little gentle unevenness to the case back and a small indentation to the bezel.

The plastic lens is in good condition.

The off-white dial has a most charming look with The Climax Trip Action Patent in an arch with the H Samuel, Manchester name underneath. The dial is in lovely condition and the fleur de lys hands are a particularly handsome feature. There is also a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
