Gents 1939 Omega Gold Plated Wrist Watch

A gents gold plated Omega cushion cased wrist watch.

The watch has a calibre 26.5 SOB hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two to three minutes or so over 24 hours. The movement is signed with the Omega name and a serial number which dates it back to 1939/1940.

The watch measures 30mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the lugs. By today’s standards the watch would be classed as mid-size so it would suit a man with a slimmer wrist or it would work nicely as a lady’s watch. The case is gold plated and was made by the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. Overall the case is in good condition for such an early piece with just some fairly gentle unevenness to the case back.

The lens is in good condition.

The white enamel dial has the Omega logo and is also signed Omega, Swiss Made. There is a hairline crack running across the dial and some damage has occurred on the number 5.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.
