For sale is this fine WW1 Zenith gun metal cased alarm pocket watch, circa 1914. The Zenith alarm pocket watches were privately purchased by officers during WW1 for use in the trenches who found the alarm function very useful. Similar watches can be found in British Military Timepieces by Konrad Knirim pages 263. The watch on offer is in fine full working order and retains a excellent undamaged dial, rare to find, and retains almost all its original luminous paint to numbers and hand set. The gun metal case is in very good condition showing only very light wear. This version Zenith watch was also made with a silver case, although the gun metal cased versions are harder to find now,especially in good condition. With the alarm function these make very fine desk time pieces as a gift for the man who has everything.
