Georgian Grandfather Movement Fitted in a Petite Oak Case with 8 Inch Brass Dial

Description

Charming Petite Solid Oak Longcase Clock with Late 18/19th Century 8 Day Movement by Dallaway & Son.

The back plate is marked Dallaway & Son. William Dallaway was the first maker's of Japanned dial clocks in Scotland and set up in 1773. From 1797 his Son joined the Company.

The solid Oak case is undoubtably an early 20th century replacement.

The 8 day twin weight movement has been checked and oiled - good working condition, it comes with its original pendulum Bob and Top, the wooden shaft is a replacement.
