1930s Vertex Pocket Watch, Ornate Gold Plated Case

Description

1930s Vertex pocket watch with an ornate gold plated case.

The watch has a stem-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and has a lovely design to the case back including a vacant cartouche to the centre. There is some gentle unevenness to the case back but other than that the case is in lovely condition.

The watch glass has two or three tiny nibbles to the edge but overall is in good condition.

The signed dial is enamel and it is in good condition with just a short hairline crack underneath the subsidiary seconds dial.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
