Antique 1910s Tacy Pocket Watch

Description

Antique 1910s Tacy pocket watch from the Tavannes Watch Company.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement which is working nicely. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is gold plated and was made by the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. Some of Dennison’s cases were originally ‘guaranteed to wear 10 years’ but this one is 14ct gold plated ‘guaranteed to wear 20 years’. The case is in good condition.

The watch glass has small marks across it, probably just from sitting in a pocket with something, and a longer scratch at the bottom which shows on the photos.

The white enamel dial is in good condition and has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
