Antique Silver Waltham Traveler Full Hunter Pocket

1900 - 1920
Description

Antique silver Waltham Traveler full hunter pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is ticking away well and the time keeping is nicely. The movement is signed American Waltham USA, Traveler and it has the serial number 21,852,880 which dates it back to 1918. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Birmimgham 1919, with a maker’s mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. It was quite usual for movements to be imported, to be subsequently cased and retailed within the UK. The case has some fairly minor indentations to the front and back.

The watch glass is in good condition.

The white signed dial is in very good order and the minute markers with red five minute increments are a nice feature.
