Gents 1940s Omega Wrist Watch

Description

A gents 1940s Omega wrist watch.

The watch has a hand-winding movement, calibre R17.8, which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Omega, Swiss and it has the serial number 10,458,183 which dates it back to around 1945/46.

The watch measures 30.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. In the 1940s, smaller watches were all the rage for the modern man so this watch is of smaller proportions, and it would suit a gent with a slimmer wrist. The case is in good condition and it has the Omega logo to the winding crown.

The lens is in good order.

The two tone dial has lots of character. It does have the Omega symbol and name but they are very faint and can only be seen at a certain angle. There is freckling / marking across the dial.

A new black leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
