Gents 1940s Longines Wrist Watch

A gents 1940s Longines wrist watch.

The watch has a calibre12.68N hand-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed with the Longines name and it also has the serial number 7,646,162 which dates it back to 1948.

The watch measures 33mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is stainless steel and was made by the prolific English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The inside of the case back has the Dennison name together with the case reference 13322, and also the reference 6452 which is also repeated on the main body of the case. The case is in good condition for its age with just minor surface marks and an indentation to the back. The winding crown is a later replacement.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial appears to be in its original finish which has darkened a little with age but overall is in good condition. The infill on the minute hand has discoloured with age and there is a little discolouration the hour hand which is only really visible through a magnifying loupe. The blued steel centre seconds hand is a little out of shape.

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.
