Gents 9 Carat Gold Record Wrist Watch

1940 - 1960
Description

A gents 9 carat gold Record wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Record and it has the calibre number 110.

The watch measures 22mm wide excluding the winding crown and 30mm high excluding the fixed wire lugs - it would suit a slim wrist. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for London 1954. The case has the odd mark and a little unevenness to the hinged back but overall the condition is pleasing for a 1950s piece.

The lens is in good condition.

The dial is signed Record and has a square subsidiary seconds dial and a square outer minute track. There is some marking to the dial as shown in the photos.

A new brown leather strap has been fitted.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
