Gents 9 Carat Gold Vertex Wrist Watch, 1950

Description

Gents 9 carat gold Vertex wrist watch, 1950.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is tickijng away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed with the Vertex name.

The watch measures 31mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1950 with a case maker’s mark for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The front of the case is in good condition. The case back has some surface scratches and some gentle unevenness.

The lens is in good condition.

The signed dial

A new dark brown leather strap has been fitted.

The watch comes with a vintage presentation box from a Bath based jeweller.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
