French Tortoiseshell and Ormolu Mantel Clock (France, C. 1890)

Description

An impressive Louis XVth style waisted bracket clock, in a tortoiseshell veneered case. It has acanthus leaf ormolu decoration, a convex bevel edge glass and a white enamel dial. The 8 day pendulum movement strikes the hours and halves on a gong.

Current Condition

The case is in excellent condition and the tortoiseshell "glows", the ormolu retains is original gilding. The movement has been stripped, cleaned and serviced in our own workshops and is guaranteed for 12 months.. if you would like a 360 video clip of this clock when striking please email us.
