Neat Size Scottish Mahogany 8 Day Longcase Clock. 1840

Description

Good Scottish mahogany 8 day longcase clock by JOHN BATHGATE of COCKENZIE. Cockenzie is just south of Edinburgh near to Haddington on the east coast.

Nicely veneered case with moulded quarter columns and all the original bracket feet. The hood with nice shape top and finial. Cast brass door bezel. The hood also nicely decorated with a carved thistle either side of the door.

8 day movement in full working order with original pendelum and cast weights. Recently fully serviced.

A very nice small size east coast Scottish round dial longcase in very good original condition.

SIZE; 83" high maximum. 19" wide maximum.
