The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1930s.
The watch measures 22mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs - it would suit either a man with slim wrist or it could be worn by a lady. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the hinged case back for Edinburgh 1939, together with a case maker's mark for the British Watch Case Company. The case is in lovely condition for a 1930s piece with just the odd minor mark.

The lens is in good condition too.
The dial is signed Ritex. There is a little darkening in places commensurate with a 1930s piece. Handsome blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.
A later black leather strap has been fitted.
