The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1890s.
A winding key is included. The movement is protected with an inner fitted cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Chester 1892 with a maker’s mark of CH, believed to be Charles Horner. The front of the case is in good condition. The case back has uneveness and some rubbing to the engine turned detail.

The watch glass is in good condition with just minor marks.
The enamel dial is signed Ford Galloway & Co, Birmingham; Ford Galloway were both jewellers and watchmakers based at 10 Vyse Street in Birmingham. There are two short hairline cracks, one above and one below the sub seconds dial but otherwise the dial is in good order.
