Antique Silver Pocket Watch and Chain

1900 - 1920
Description

An antique silver pocket watch.

The watch has a ¾ plate stem-winding movement which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around three to four minutes over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 48mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside the two case backs for Chester 1907, with a maker’s mark of SY for the Coventry based watch case maker Samuel Yeomans. The front of the case is in good condition; the back has a few small indentations.

The plastic lens is in good condition.

The dial is in good condition with blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

The watch comes with an antique silver watch chain which measures 32cm long including the T-bar and the clasp. The chain weighs 64g so it is a good weight.
