1920s Full Hunter Pocket Watch

1900 - 1920
Description

1920s full hunter pocket watch originally retailed by Thomas Russell & Son.

The watch has a Swiss stem-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is ticking away nicely and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours. The movement is signed Thomas Russell & Son and is protected by an inner hinged cover.

The watch measures 50mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case was made by the Illinois Watch Case Company and it is also signed with the Thomas Russell name. The case has three small indentations to the back and some rubbing to the finish but overall is very acceptable for a 1920s piece - the patterned edge is a nice feature of this case.

The plastic lens has light marks.

The white dial is also signed Thomas Russell & Son. It has blued steel hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and an outer minute track.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
