Description

A Lancashire Watch Co Ltd silver pocket watch, 1900.

The watch has a key-winding movement which is working nicely and the time keeping is good to within around three to four minutes or so over 24 hours. The movement is protected by an inner fitted cover.

The watch measures 51mm diameter excluding the stem and the loop. The case is silver and there are hallmarks inside both of the case backs for Chester 1900 with a maker’s mark of TPH (for Thomas Hewitt of the Lancashire Watch Company). The case is in good condition with engine turned detail and a vacant cartouche to the case back. The inside of the case back has a previous owner’s name, R P Dagnall.

The watch glass is in good order.

The dial is signed Lancashire Watch Co, London & Prescot. There is a faint hairline crack running horizontally through the centre and a couple of chips to the edge (hidden when the front cover is closed).
