Collinge Antiques has dated this piece to the 1950s.
Eight day Elliott works with a strike and choice of Westminster or Whittington chimes. Typical of Elliott’s attention to detail the chimes are automatically disabled between 11pm and 7am so 'the lightest sleeper is not disturbed by the chimes at night'. The clock can also be run silent without the chimes or strike. With a clear makers stamp and serial number on the rear of the works. The face also carries the name of the great jewellers Boodle & Dunthorne (now known simply as Boodles) Chester who would have been the original retailers. With some minor scratches and tarnish to the face otherwise excellent condition. The case has been cleaned and polished in our workshops whilst the works have been cleaned and overhauled and are sold with a 12 month guarantee.
