The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1940s.
As with most early bumper automatic watches, you can feel the rotor ‘bumping’ which is quite normal. The movement is signed Omega and it has the serial number 11,420,307 which dates it back to the late 1940s.

The watch measures 31.5mm diameter excluding the winding crown and the lugs. It would suit a man with a slimmer wrist. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks inside the case back for Birmingham 1949 with a case maker’s mark of ALD for the English watch case maker Aaron Dennison. The case is in good condition for its age with just the odd minor mark. The back of the watch has been engraved with the initials AF. The winding crown is a later non-Omega replacement.

The lens is in good condition.
The signed dial has feuille shaped hands, a subsidiary seconds dial and outer minute markers. There is a little discolouration to the dial.
A later black leather strap has been fitted.
