A Fine Regency Period English Bracket Clock

Description

A good quality early 19th century Regency period mahogany BRACKET CLOCK in perfect working order.

The case is of typical London quality, beautifully figured, with a gadrooned 'gable' top surmounted by a pineapple finial; brass inlay to the panels around the dial; brass fish-scale side panels and cast ball feet.

The 8-day fusee movement strikes hours on a bell and is signed both to the movement and on the original painted dial, which is convex as is the glass to the front door within its cast brass bezel. An excellent quality and impressive English Bracket Clock.18.5ins high (47cms) high excluding the finial.

*Probably either John Heely Wright, of London c1810.
