The Vintage Wrist Watch Company has dated this piece to the 1900s.
The signed movement has the serial number 10,158,780 which dates it back to a batch of 2000 which were manufactured in 1903. The movement is protected by an inner hinged cover; there is some play in the hinge but it snaps shut as it should.

The gold filled half hunter case was made by the American Watch Case Company of Canada. The Roman numerals to the front of the case are filled with black enamel. There is engine turned detail to both the back of the case and, rather unusually, also to the front. There are a couple of small indentations to the case but overall the condition is very nice.

The small front lens is glass and the inner lens is plastic.
The signed dial is in lovely condition and has blued steel hands (note the special half hunter hand so that the time can be read through the small outer lens.
