Gents 1920s 9ct Gold Art Deco Wrist Watch

Description

Gents 1920s 9ct gold Art Deco wrist watch.

The watch has a Swiss hand-winding movement, with 15 jewels, which is working well and the time keeping is good to within around two minutes over 24 hours.

The watch measures 25mm wide excluding the winding crown and 31mm high excluding the lugs. The case is 9 carat gold and there are hallmarks on the back of the watch for Edinburgh (import mark), 1929 with an importer’s mark of AGR for Arthur G Rendell. The front and sides of the case are in good condition, with nicely patterned detail down each side. The hinged case back has several small indentations.

The slightly convex lens is in good condition.

The dial has lots of Art Deco style with an unusual inset gilded border, stylised numbers and a square (but faint) subsidiary seconds dial.

The watch has a vintage brown leather strap.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
