18th Cent Scottish Mahogany Longcase Clock

18th century
Description

A handsome mahogany Longcase clock by William Hamilton of Whiteburn, Scotland. He is listed as working there in the late 18th Cent.

It has a good quality mahogany case with beautifully cast Corinthian capitals to the trunk and hood.

The 8 day movement strikes the hours on a bell and has a very smart brass dial with silvered chapter ring and gilt spandrels. It has a subsidiary seconds dial and small date window (currently not working).

The case is in good condition as is the movement which is running well and keeping good time.

The maximum dimensions are:

224cm(88") high

56cm(22") wide

28cm(11") deep

Free local delivery and setup (75mls), national and international delivery arranged at cost
