Antique Silver Pocket Watch, 1906

1900 - 1920
Description

Antique 1906 silver pocket watch.

The watch has a stem-winding movement which is working well and the time keeping is good to within around three minutes over 24 hours. The movement is stamped 15 jewels, 3 adjustments, Swiss made. The movement is protected by an inner hinged dust cover.

The watch measures 50.5 mm diameter excluding the winding stem and the loop. The case is silver and both of the back covers have hallmarks for Birmingham 1906, with a maker's mark for the Birmingham based watch case maker William Henry Sparrow. The case has light surface marks and a small "ding" to the back but overall the condition is very nice for such an early piece.

The watch lens is plastic and is in nice condition with only the odd minor mark.

The white enamel dial has Swiss made at the bottom and is in nice condition.

The watch has its original hour and minute hands although the sub second hand is a later replacement.

We are an on-line only business and do not have facilities for callers. Our offices are open from Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm.

With regards to appraisals / valuations, we receive a huge number of information requests each day and unfortunately do not have the manpower to deal with them all individually. Our advice would be to contact a local auctioneer for a full appraisal.
